Superset Consulting Requirements A major financial services firm sought to transition from a leading proprietary BI solution to an open-source platform (Superset) for one of its core products, aiming to significantly reduce licensing costs.
Deliverables NobleProg engaged in extensive project meetings with the client to thoroughly assess requirements, scope, risks, and the technical environment. This foundation allowed us to draft a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and track the project's progress. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the existing data architecture with specific reporting needs. Recommendations were made to optimize data stores for the best utilization of Superset and to ensure peak performance, with the implementation team receiving direct guidance to execute these changes. Once the data store and pipeline were optimized, our consultants began developing and deploying various reports, addressing both existing business requirements and new customer requests. To facilitate the specific data presentation formats requested, custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive features, such as drill-down capabilities.
Outcome The consultants successfully built new dashboards while ensuring the customer organization gained sufficient knowledge to maintain these dashboards and reports independently.
The project remains active and has received positive feedback from both the client’s business units and their end customers. Highlighting the project's success, it has since been expanded to cover additional products and client segments.
