Course Outline

Participants will learn how to:

  • Program the interface.
  • Set the size of projects.
  • Position auxiliary lines in the project, including the distribution of columns.
  • Save project files.
  • Use the tool palette.
  • Insert text and graphics from other files and programs, including Microsoft Office.
  • Work with text frames and graphics in Adobe InDesign.
  • Employ tools for editing text and graphics.
  • Create ornamental text.
  • Link text boxes in a logical flow.
  • Create your own library of helpful tools.
  • Create custom styles, symbols, characters, graphics, fonts, and colors.
  • Save time by using tools for quickly switching between created styles.
  • Create patterns for repetitive projects.
  • Work with colors in various palettes.
  • Work with multi-page documents.
  • Number pages and set sections.
  • Manage externally attached files.
  • Print the document.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with vector and raster graphics is beneficial but not mandatory.
