Course Outline

Module 1: Overview & Architecture

Explain the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and the core components of the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO) software. Detail the architecture of D365FO, along with relevant design and deployment considerations for D365FO.

Module 2: Developer Tools

Manage system implementations using Lifecycle Services. Customize D365FO through Visual Studio. Manage source code and artifacts via version control, and utilize additional development tools to complete tasks.

Module 3: Solution Design

Identify the necessary application stack components and server architecture. Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and design a comprehensive solution for D365FO.

Module 4: AOT Elements

Create forms. Create and extend tables. Develop Extended data Types (EDT) and enumerations. Create classes and extend AOT elements.

Module 5: Code Development & Testing

Develop X++ code and object-oriented code. Extend D365 FO functionality. Describe the test framework and tools, and conduct Unit Testing.

Module 6: Data Migration

Explain migration tools and methodologies. Plan a migration strategy. Prepare data for migration and perform data migration, including a lab session on Data Export/Import using Data Entity.

Module 7: Frameworks

Implement D365 FO functionality.

Module 8: Integration

Identify data integration patterns and scenarios. Implement data integration concepts and solutions, as well as recurring integrations. Integrate D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshoot integration errors, and implement the Data Management Package API.

Module 9: Reporting

Describe the capabilities and limitations of reporting tools in D365FO. Design, create, and refine Dynamics Reports. Design, create, and refine Dynamics workspaces. Design, create, and refine data sources that connect to data stores external to D365FO.

Module 10: Security & Performance

Describe and implement performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring tools. Enact role-based security policies and requirements. Apply fundamental performance optimization techniques, optimize performance for batch processes, enhance user interface performance, improve integration performance, and optimize Report Performance. Include a lab session on Async & Sandbox Functionality.
