Presentation Skills
- Delivery of a pre-prepared presentation on a subject chosen by the participant, but related to their work.
Note: The duration of each participant's presentation will depend on the overall length of the course and the number of attendees. Eight participants is the ideal group size.

Preparing a Presentation
- Key questions for the presenter to consider in advance:
- Why am I the right person for this?
- Logistics: What, where, when, how, and how long?
- Understanding how the answers to these questions influence the structure of the presentation
- Structuring the content:
- Research – thoroughly understanding the subject matter
- Organizing the content logically
- Creating and utilizing complementary visual aids
Preparing the Presenter
- Three fundamental communication tools for any presenter:
- Verbal – choosing the right words and avoiding slang or jargon
- Vocal – using the voice effectively while avoiding distracting verbal tics and unnecessary pauses
- Visual – the presenter's appearance: attire, mannerisms, and presence
- Rehearsing the presentation and obtaining honest feedback from a trustworthy source
- Managing nerves
Preparing the Environment
- Room layouts – and how they convey underlying messages to the attendees
- Using the room to enhance the overall presentation experience
Presentation Skills – Revisited
- Delivery of another presentation (after an appropriate preparation period).
Note: This may be the same presentation as in Module 1, but refined based on detailed feedback.
- Comprehensive one-to-one and group feedback
