By successfully completing this training, you will gain the ability to:
- Articulate the fundamental concepts and principles of an AIMS derived from ISO/IEC 42001
- Interpret the ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AIMS from the perspective of an implementer
- Launch and plan the implementation of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001 by applying PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and other proven best practices
- Support the operational, maintenance, and continual improvement processes of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
- Readiness an organization to pass a third-party certification audit
Course Structure
Day 1: Introduction to ISO/IEC 42001 and the initiation phase of AIMS implementation
Day 2: Strategic planning for AIMS implementation
Day 3: Execution and implementation of the AIMS
Day 4: AIMS monitoring, continual improvement strategies, and certification audit preparation
Day 5: Certification examination
Upon successfully completing this training, you will be able to:
- Explain the fundamental concepts and principles of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
- Interpret the ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AIMS from the perspective of an implementer
- Initiate and plan the implementation of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001 by utilizing PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and other best practices
- Support an organization in operating, maintaining, and continually improving an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
- Prepare an organization to undergo a third party certification audit
Examination
The “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer” exam adheres to all PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) standards. It assesses competency across the following domains:
Domain 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of an artificial intelligence management system (AIMS)
Domain 2: Requirements for an artificial intelligence management system
Domain 3: Planning the implementation of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 4: Implementing an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 5: Monitoring and measuring an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 6: Continual improvement and preparation for AIMS certification audits
Available Credentials and Prerequisites
Following a successful exam, you may apply for one of the following credentials based on your professional background and project involvement. Certification is issued upon fulfillment of all criteria for the selected tier, including the signing of the PECB Code of Ethics.
1. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Provisional Implementer

Exam Requirement: Completion of the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or an equivalent qualification

Professional Experience: No prior experience required

AIMS Project Experience: No prior project experience required

Other Requirements: Signing the PECB Code of Ethics
2. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Implementer

Exam Requirement: Completion of the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or an equivalent qualification

Professional Experience: Two years of total experience, including at least one year focused on artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: A minimum of 200 hours of relevant project activities

Other Requirements: Signing the PECB Code of Ethics
3. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer

Exam Requirement: Completion of the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or an equivalent qualification

Professional Experience: Five years of total experience, with at least two years dedicated to artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: A minimum of 300 hours of relevant project activities

Other Requirements: Signing the PECB Code of Ethics
4. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Senior Lead Implementer

Exam Requirement: Completion of the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or an equivalent qualification

Professional Experience: Ten years of total experience, with at least seven years focused on artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: A minimum of 1,000 hours of relevant project activities

Other Requirements: Signing the PECB Code of Ethics

General Information
- The cost of certification and examination is included in the training fee.
- Participants receive comprehensive course materials featuring over 400 pages of content, practical examples, exercises, and quizzes.
- A certificate of completion, valued at 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits, will be issued to those who have attended the course.
- Candidates who complete the training but do not pass the exam are eligible for one free retake within 12 months of the initial exam date.
